If You Give a Cat a Cupcake

Laura Numeroff story time continued this week! Before we began, I set up play food (pastries, muffins, breads, etc.), play cookies and dishes, a play cash register, a magnetic cookie sheet with tiny patterned cookies, pancake beanbags, a soft play griddle, and turners. The kids played with these toys until I was ready for them to take out their mats and sit down.

Our first story was If You Give a Pig Pancake, which follows the story pattern of If You Give a Mouse a Cookie.

We took a break between stories to play with the animal dice we used last week.

Our second story of the morning was If You Give a Cat a Cupcake.

For our craft, we made pretend cupcakes of our own:

Cupcake Craft

I set out markers, stampers, glitter confetti rollers, and stickers, and the kids decorated their pages. The template is available at HarperCollins Children’s.

Join us next week for more Laura Numeroff!
