This week is movement!
We started with Giraffes Can’t Dance by Giles Andreae and Guy Parker-Rees.
The kids loved this book. They thought it was hilarious to watch the giraffe twist and turn and somersault while the other animals tangoed and danced Scottish reels.
We danced to Jim Gill’s “Jumping and Counting” after we finished our book. This is a fun, fast paced song that gets everyone up and moving without causing mass chaos.
Our second book today was Sometimes I Like to Curl Up in a Ball by Vicki Churchill and Charles Fuge.
This is one of my favorite books. It’s short, colorful, and full of great action words. It makes a perfect preschool readaloud.
After our books, we went to our stations:
- Paper, markers, stickers.
- Foam blocks.
- Magna-Cars & Trucks.
- Soft toys.
- Ring toss.
- Bowling game.
Next week is art!
